Day 2 Recap - Dragonsteel Nexus 2025
I'm tired team. Its 11:34 in Salt Lake right now, I just got back from a four-hour 400 person Cosmere RPG epic. I'll start there since that was truly the highlight of the trip.
Cosmere RPG Epic
Led by our Game Master, DocSun of FoundryVTT fame, Vanguard 3 pushed forward and absolutely crushed the Cosmere RPG Epic.
I won't spoil the adventure since it will be released soon, but it was an amazing adventure set during the Lost Desolation.
I took on the role of a third ideal Stoneward (naturally) as we we ran through a mixture of endeavors and combat. The best part of the epic was that dozens of other tables success or failure all contributed to the overall success of the whole group. In the end, we were victorious.
Huge shout out to my table - everyone was so in to the game and willing to try all sorts of classic table top hijinks.
When I get back home I will be putting up a video that'll give you an idea of the scope of this kind of event, so stay tuned.
Winded and Truthful: A Stormlight Debrief panel
A group of some of the most popular Cosmere and Fantasy content creators got together to do a breakdown of Wind and Truth. It is the perfect encapsulation of what it's like to be at Nexus: between the hot takes and incredibly emotional reactions to Wind and Truth, the panel felt like the types of conversations you would have debating among your friends.
While I am lucky to have a partner and a whole host of people in my life who have read the Cosmere, not everyone has that opportunity. Nexus, and panels like this, are their chance to get to experience that sense of connection.
Big shout out to Cosmere Mo, Edgedancing_through_life, Cosmere Academy, Cosmere Junkie, T D Orel for a great panel.
Spoiler Q&A
Brandon's spoiler Q&A didn't feel earth shattering this year. There were a lot of great questions asked, but nothing really felt Cosmere-expanding in scope. I may feel differently about that after the WoB post on the Arcanum is up and I have a chance to read through all of the questions, but that's where I'm at right now.
Tomorrow's update
My final update tomorrow will be delayed. I am in the booth all day and I'll need to focus on releasing updates for the Cosmere RPG panel.
I shot a lot of video today but can't quite make use of it until I get to my equipment at home.
